Use the style or production brief to describe this sound. Specify the instrument, voice or texture it should affect; a bracketed label is not a guaranteed control. Keep a small set of compatible directions and separate them from the words to be sung.
Intended effect
Create a recognisable band arrangement with the chorus gaining width and weight.
Limitations
Alternative rock is broad. Specify one guitar texture and one rhythmic feel before adding further subgenres.
A useful comparison
Compare sparse verse guitar with continuous strumming and listen for chorus contrast.
If removing the tag would not change the intended energy, voice, texture or arrangement, it is probably not adding useful direction.
