How Kordra handles your information.

1. Who is responsible for your information

Godsall.Dev, trading as Kordra, is the controller of personal information collected through kordra.io. Our address is SIU Offices, 4 - 6 Greatorex Street, London, E1 5NF, United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@kordra.io.

2. What this notice covers

This notice covers the public Kordra company website, including its Journal, Knowledge Base, contact form and optional company and Studio update lists. It also covers the information handling described below for Kordra Studio, our native macOS app, and Kordra Capture, our native iPhone app. Kordra Music is a separate web product at music.kordra.io; its account, billing and product use are governed by information made available in that service.

Kordra Studio for macOS

Kordra Studio is a fully local macOS app. It does not require an account, sign-in, cloud or profile sync service, hosted storage, external checkout, analytics SDK or a live licence check. A writer profile, if you choose to create one, personalises that installation of the app only.

Your songs, project files, recordings and other Studio work remain on your Mac. Kordra Studio does not transmit that material to Kordra. The app asks for microphone permission only when you begin recording audio. It also uses the files you choose to open, save, import or export so it can provide those local functions.

Kordra Capture for iPhone

Kordra Capture is a fully functional, local-first iPhone app. It does not require an account or sign-in and does not use cloud or hosted storage, advertising or analytics SDKs. Your text captures, recordings, context and library records remain on your iPhone. Kordra does not receive that material through the app.

Capture asks for microphone permission only after you choose to record. If you send text or audio to Capture through the iOS share sheet, or save text through a supported App Intent, the selected content is staged and saved locally on the device. Opening Capture through a system action does not start a recording.

Files leave Capture only when you deliberately export or share them. iOS then passes the prepared files to Files, AirDrop or another destination you choose, whose own privacy terms apply. Items moved to Recently Deleted remain locally for up to 30 days unless you restore or permanently delete them sooner.

Spotlight search integration is off by default. If you enable it, Capture adds only approved capture titles, tags and Song Seed titles to the protected on-device index; audio, full text and filenames are excluded.

3. Information we collect and why

When you browse the site

Our hosting and security providers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, referring URL, date and time, and security or error signals. We use this to deliver the site, keep it secure, prevent abuse, diagnose problems and understand how the public site performs. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site.

Google Analytics and Meta Pixel have separate optional consent choices, both off for new visitors. Analytics consent enables Google Analytics to measure public page use and product journeys; Google advertising permissions stay denied. Marketing consent enables Meta Pixel to measure visits and marketing performance. Meta may connect this activity with your Meta account and use it for advertising. These providers may receive page URLs, referral source, broad location, browser and device information. Kordra’s custom events contain only public product, placement, destination, article slug, pricing tier and billing interval values. They contain no form content or account identifiers. You can withdraw either choice through the Cookie & privacy control.

When you contact us

We process the name, email address and message you submit, together with limited technical information used to protect the form from abuse. We use this information to read and respond to your enquiry, keep a reasonable record of the correspondence, and protect the service. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running the company. We do not use a general enquiry to add you to marketing lists.

When you choose email updates

If you choose to receive Kordra company updates or Kordra Studio development news, we process your email address, the list you joined and your subscription status. We use it to send the updates you requested and manage unsubscribes. We rely on your consent for this electronic marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

4. Who receives your information

We use service providers to operate this website. Depending on the interaction, they include Vercel for hosting and security; Google for Analytics and Meta for marketing measurement when separately enabled; Contentful for Journal publishing and content delivery; EmailOctopus for our email-update lists; and our SMTP email provider for delivering contact-form messages to the company inbox. They process information only as needed to provide their services to us or where they have an independent legal obligation.

We may also share information where reasonably necessary to protect the site or people from fraud, abuse or security threats, to comply with the law, or in connection with a reorganisation, sale or transfer of the business. We do not sell personal information.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a transfer is restricted by UK data-protection law, we use an adequacy regulation or another lawful safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or approved contractual clauses, and apply any supplementary measures that are appropriate. You can contact us for more information about the relevant safeguard.

6. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose described above. This means security and technical records are kept in accordance with our providers’ operational retention settings; contact correspondence is kept while we need it to deal with the enquiry, maintain an appropriate business record or meet a legal obligation; and email-update details are kept until you unsubscribe or we stop sending that type of update. We may keep a minimal suppression record after an unsubscribe so that we can honour your choice.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use the necessary kordra_cookie_preferences cookie to remember separate analytics and marketing choices for up to 12 months. No Google or Meta measurement script loads before its corresponding choice. Google Analytics uses Company measurement cookies such as _ga and _ga_Q3EHN3YEVL; Meta may use _fbp and _fbc. “Reject optional cookies” disables both. “Manage choices” lets you enable either independently, and “Accept all optional” enables both. On withdrawal we block further event dispatch, revoke the provider’s consent and remove the relevant Company measurement cookies. This does not remove unrelated application cookies or erase information a provider received before withdrawal. Older saved analytics preferences keep their analytics choice, but Meta requires a new affirmative choice.

Your browser, device and network may use their own security storage. Websites opened through our links have their own privacy practices. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Privacy Policy for their handling of information.

8. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and limits in data-protection law, you can ask us to provide access to your personal information, correct inaccurate information, erase it, restrict or object to our processing, or provide a portable copy where applicable. You can also withdraw marketing consent at any time. To make a request, email hello@kordra.io. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your information. We would appreciate the chance to help first, but you can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

9. Automated decisions and children

We do not make decisions about you solely by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the site, our processing or the law changes. We will publish the revised version here and update the date below.
